Eight years old, first own tube change — in the Wiedikon courtyard, with dad's tools, under the neighbour's guidance. The bike love was there from the start.

I'm the chief, I ride the cargo, I fix your bike. Sometimes friends help when it's busy. No selfies — just real shots of the tools and the road.
Our story
From the first flat tire in 1985 to the cargo bike in 2024.
Four decades of bike experience across a small team. Here are the milestones that made us VELOV.

- 2005–2015
Training and experience
Apprenticeship as a two-wheel mechanic. 10+ years in stationary workshops in Zurich — from city bikes to the e-bike boom. We've had thousands of bikes through our hands.
- 2020
VELOV — the mobile idea
Pandemic lockdown. Full workshops, 4-week waits. We thought: what if we brought the workshop to the bike instead of the other way around? Cargo bike + tool set = mobile workshop. The first customers via WhatsApp from Wiedikon.

Why no selfie?
I'm a regular bike mechanic — Birkenstocks, wool socks, more tools than clothes. No selfies because I'm not an influencer. I fix bikes. Look at your bike after I'm gone — that says more than a photo of my face.

These aren't marketing lines. These are the rules we work by every day.
Fixed price before we start
No surprises. You know what you pay beforehand. Even if the repair takes longer or shorter.
Cargo bike trip
We come by cargo bike. Zero CO₂. Through every traffic jam. To every address, even the narrowest Niederdorf alley.
Original parts
For safety-critical parts we use original spares with manufacturer warranty. No no-name on brakes.
Quick reply
WhatsApp is our channel. You message, we reply fast — also evenings, also weekends.
Local & honest
Zurich mechanics. We speak DE, EN, FR, IT, ES. We honestly say no when we can't do something (e.g. battery repair).
Sustainability
We extend your bike's life instead of selling you a new one. Old bikes? We pick them up and recycle them fully.
Brand philosophy
Why no selfie?
We don't take photos of our faces. Instead: cargo bike, workshop, your bike, Zurich view. Three reasons.

1. I'm a mechanic, not an influencer. You book me because your bike is broken. My face is irrelevant to that.
2. Cargo + tools = what matters. Who I am as an individual matters less than what I do. Cargo bike at the door, bike fixed, done.
3. Birkis + wool socks. Yes, I know.
