What do you charge — and is the price fixed before you arrive?
A flat tyre is CHF 99 all-in at VELOV — tube, labour and travel included. Individual repairs cost the repair price plus a CHF 49 travel fee inside the city of Zurich; with a service package from CHF 149 the travel is already included. The price is fixed before we set off.
Is there a bike workshop in Zurich that comes to my home?
Yes — that is exactly what VELOV is. We have no shop: a mechanic rides a cargo bike to you and repairs the bike on the spot, at home, at the office, in the courtyard or at the station. Nothing to drop off, nothing to pick up.
How fast can you be there?
Inside the city of Zurich we plan 25 to 45 minutes depending on the district. Appointments are arranged on WhatsApp, seven days a week — Mon–Fri 7am to midnight, Sat–Sun 8am to 10pm.
Do you repair e-bikes and cargo bikes too?
Yes, both. E-bike service starts at CHF 206, cargo-bike service at CHF 229, and we read and explain an error code for CHF 108. We work on all the common systems — Bosch, Shimano, Yamaha, Bafang, Brose, FAZUA.
What do you explicitly not do?
We do not open e-bike batteries, swap cells, or do motor internals and firmware updates — for safety reasons that belongs with the manufacturer. We also do not sell bikes. We are mechanics, not dealers.
Where do you come — and what does travel cost outside the city?
All of Zurich city, all twelve districts, with no surcharge — travel is CHF 49 for individual repairs and included in every service package. We also ride out: Kilchberg, Schlieren and Zollikon at CHF 25, Adliswil, Rüschlikon and Opfikon at CHF 35, Thalwil, Dietikon, Dübendorf and Wallisellen at CHF 45.
